- Develop comprehensive, data-driven Safety Action Plans for Bangor, Bradley, Brewer, Hampden, Hermon, Milford, Old Town, Orono, Orrington, Penobscot Nation, and Veazie.
- Conduct planning, design, and development activities for projects and strategies identified in the Safety Action Plans.
- Execute 11 demonstration projects (one for each community) based on local priorities and feasibility.
Safety Action Plans are intended to be resources for each of the eleven greater Bangor communities but also have the added benefit of being designed to position them to apply for implementation grant funding through the Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) program. Plans will also be structured to align with Maine’s 2022 Strategic Highway Safety Plan, which opens up additional possibilities for implementation funding from MaineDOT.
